Red Sox nation finally got the answer to the top burning question of the offseason, what would the opening day line-up look like?  Here you go:

1. Jacoby Ellsbury, CF

2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B

3. Carl Crawford, LF

4. Kevin Youkilis, 3B

5. Adrian Gonzalez, 1B

6. David Ortiz, DH

7. Mike Cameron, RF

8. Jarrod Saltalamacchia, C

9. Marco Scutaro, SS

SP -- Jon Lester, LHP

There not too many surprises in there.  Cameron instead of JD Drew and Youkilis/Gonzalez fourth and fifth are the only ones that jump out on initial glance. Though when you consider the Sox are facing the Texas Rangers CJ Wilson, a left-hander those few ihead scratchers make sense.

As I have written before I’m far more concerned with the late August/September/hopefully October line-up that what we will see tomorrow but that doesn’t mean I didn’t raise an eyebrow when I heard it for the first time today.

I fully expect this line-up to go through a number of changes before we reach the stretch run and Manager Terry Francona will have his hands full trying to find the perfect one through nine for the end of the year but for now we have an answer after months of speculation.
